Site Description

Wetlands

The mouth of the Yahagigawa river area extends to the cities of Nishio and Hekinan. Since the present course of the river was created about 400 years ago, alluvial and a series of reclamation works have been made, resulting in the current geographic features. Along the dry riverbed areas with concrete embankments, Phragmites australis and other plants grow.
