JP147Nakatsu and Usa tidal flats

Site Description

Wetlands

This area has sea beaches whose tidal range is big, and behind which there is a diversified environment including Pinus thunbergii, arable lands and former salt farms. Although the coast originally had Pinus thunbergii, at present, there hardly remains natural coasts with the progress of bank protection works. Still, a lot of wild birds can be seen including wintering ones.
